The iCub Chronicles - Attention to Emotions!
Proceedings of the 10th AAAI Video Competition at the Conference on Artificial Intelligence (AAAI-16),
- Feb 2016
Our iCub is lonely, and wants to talk to someone. But it will only talk to someone who has a positive expression towards him. To recognize visual emotion expressions we use a deep neural network which observes a person's facial expression and body movement. Our iCub is able to classify expressions in three categories: positive, negative and neutral. After starting a conversation, the iCub will react differently depending on which expression the person shows. The iCub will tease the person, be sad, or angry and will express itself using its facial features and colours.
